About the event

WHAT WE WILL COVER DURING THIS 6 HOUR WORKSHOP:

Session 1: Exploring Our Ways of Being: In this session, we  pause to reflect on how we've been taught to lead by taking a deep dive into generational patterns that have been passed down to us. Rather than skills to navigate the invisible forces in the workplace, much of what we've been taught is to center white discomfort and show up as a fraction of ourselves. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Session 2: Exploring Our Core Beliefs: Cultivating New Narratives: Our ways of being are a result of the core beliefs we believe about ourselves and others, and that world is reflected in how we lead. Session 2 highlights those core beliefs and help participants find the roots of where they come from. As a result, participants create new narratives for leadership.

Session 3: Establishing Healthy Boundaries: Without defining what we deserve and how we should be treated as a professional, recognizing when boundaries need to be set and when to practice that will always be unclear. In session 3, participants explore what boundaries they need to implement based on the unique challenges they face in the workplace.

Session 4: Broaching Critical Conversations: In our role as leaders, especially as Black women leaders, there are so many critical conversations that will occur. In session 4 participants develop language for the  invisible forces in the workplace that impact their sense of well-being. Rather than endure the invisible focus that cause harm and stifle their capacity to be effective leaders, our workshop helps you to disrupt patterns of self silence and preoccupation with not being the “angry black woman” by teaching our framework for having critical conversations.

Session 5: The Fundamentals of Rupture and Repair: Conflict In the workplace Is inevitable, and ruptures in relationships will occur.  Rather than avoid addressing the rupture, we teach you how to lean into it with our steps to navigating rupture and repair. No, not all ruptured relationships can be repaired, but some of them can. You need the skills sis.

Session 6: Experiential Learning: Lights, Camera, ACTION!! Leaders will put their new skills to the test through role play scenarios that require broaching critical conversations and navigating a ruptured relationship.

Black women who invest in this workshop will:

  • Build an expansive network and community of other Black women leaders across industries
  • Engage in thought-provoking exercises that increase self-awareness
  • Establish boundaries and new ways of being as a leader
  • Learn the framework for navigating functional conflict
  • Learn the steps for navigating ruptures and repair in professional relationships
  • Be invited to attend the Annual Retreat for Black Women Leaders In Los Angeles, California!
